Heating and ventilation. One shared view.
For Ilmenauer Wohnungs- und Gebäudegesellschaft mbH, we connected building services at the Am Stollen 1 property. Existing heating and ventilation controllers, heat meters and additional temperature sensors supply their data to Loxone. Plant schematics, adjustable ventilation schedules and cunnect.metrics monitoring bring daily operation together with long-term analysis of operating data.
The challenge
Heating, ventilation and heat metering needed to be monitored together remotely. Existing controllers remain part of the installation. Their measurements and operating states must be brought together through different interfaces in a single user interface.
Alongside live plant schematics, clear temperature and energy trends are needed to understand the relationship between heat generation, buffer storage and ventilation operation.
Day-to-day operation also requires adjustable ventilation setback schedules and automatic detection of relevant faults. The project therefore combines the integration of existing equipment, central visualisation and continuous analysis of operating data.
Technical implementation
TREND controllers are read via BACnet. An MBS gateway maps their data to Modbus for integration into Loxone. Two Swegon GOLD ventilation units provide readings via Modbus TCP. Three heat meters with M-Bus modules and additional sensors on two buffer tanks extend the measurement system.
Loxone provides plant schematics and readings and runs two ventilation setback schedules. A volt-free fault contact integrates the Reflex degassing unit. Ventilation alarms, degassing faults and a time-filtered flow/return temperature plausibility check trigger notifications.
cunnect.metrics stores relevant data in InfluxDB. Grafana dashboards display trends and overlaid charts. They can also be accessed through “Monitoring & Statistics” in the Loxone app.
