Industrial electrical installation · Alsfeld

Connecting equipment. Coordinating interfaces.

The industrial installation at KRAUSE-Werk in Alsfeld centres on electrical connections between the control cabinet, sensors and plant components. Cable routes, cable installation and industrial connectors need to match the mechanical layout. PROFINET connections, M12 connectors and multipole connectors provide the respective interfaces for data and signals.

The challenge

An industrial installation requires clearly assigned connections between the control system, sensors and electrical field components. Electrical diagrams and wiring overviews define the connection points and cable assignments.

In addition to cable pulling, routing, mechanical protection and connector positions are important. Electrical interfaces on moving plant sections in particular need to match the mechanical layout.

The project involved PROFINET connections, M12 connectors and multipole connectors. Each connection type has its own requirements for assembly, termination and assignment.

Technical implementation

The technical focus was on cable routes, cable installation, connector assembly and control-cabinet terminations. These physically implement the connections between controls and field components shown in the electrical diagrams.

PROFINET cables provide industrial data communication. M12 and multipole connectors bring together the relevant signal and device connections. Their positioning and cable routing need to account for installation, accessibility and potential equipment movement.

The assignment of sensor connections and connectors links electrical design with the mechanical plant layout. This provides the basis for subsequent functional checks of the control system.
