Three systems. Visible remotely.

For Wohnungsbaugenossenschaft Zukunft eG, we implemented remote access to operating data from three physically separate heating and domestic hot water systems at Rigaer Straße 7–9 in Erfurt. SAMSON TROVIS controllers are read via Modbus TCP and visualised with Loxone. Independent LTE connections link each technical location to its remote view. The existing controllers remain responsible for plant operation.

01

The challenge

Operating data from the existing heating and domestic hot water controls needed to become visible remotely. The pilot project covers three systems in physically separate technical areas serving different building entrances.

The technical task was to retain the existing SAMSON TROVIS controllers and present their measurements and operating states clearly. Each system needs its own connection between the controller, data acquisition and remote view.

As no shared network cabling was installed between the plant rooms, the result is a distributed architecture with three independent units. The implemented scope focuses on reading and visualising data while retaining the original plant controls.

02

Technical implementation

Each technical location was equipped with a Loxone Miniserver Compact, a 24 V power supply and an LTE router installed and wired in the existing control cabinet. The respective SAMSON TROVIS 5578-E is connected via LAN. Loxone reads the available data over Modbus TCP using the manufacturer’s register documentation.

Plant-specific visualisation schematics were created from existing documentation, plant photographs and recorded data. Measurements are displayed in their technical context and can be assigned to the corresponding system.

The three locations operate as independent units, each with its own mobile connection and plant view. The Loxone application provides remote access to the processed data. The implemented connection reads controller data; it does not replace the existing plant controls.
